Equity Funds

The Khaleej Equity Fund is SICO’s flagship MENA conventional equity fund. This open-ended Fund invests in equities listed on the exchanges in the MENA region and has been delivering results since its inception in March 2004. As one of the region’s oldest and largest MENA funds, it carries a long-standing track record of performance and stability.

Investment objective and strategy

The Fund’s primary objective is to achieve long-term capital appreciation. It seeks to meet this goal by investing mainly in equity securities listed on MENA stock exchanges, as well as in MENA-domiciled companies listed elsewhere.

The Fund may also occasionally invest in equity-related, hybrid, and debt securities listed in MENA countries, in addition to unlisted debt instruments issued by governments or quasi-government institutions in the region.

Reporting

The Investment Manager issues a monthly report outlining the Fund’s net asset value, asset allocation, key statistics, sector breakdown, and top holdings. In addition, annual audited financial statements are shared with all unitholders.

Subscription

The Fund is open to accredited investors only.
The minimum subscription amounts for each class are as follows:
- Class A: USD 100,000
- Class B: USD 5,000,000
- Class C: USD 10,000,000

The SICO Gulf Equity Fund is a leading MENA ex-Saudi Arabia conventional open-ended equity fund. It aims for long-term capital growth by investing in equities listed across MENA exchanges, excluding Saudi Arabia. Established in February 2006, the Fund has shown consistent performance and resilience across market cycles.

Investment objective and strategy

The Fund’s primary objective is to achieve long-term capital appreciation. It pursues this goal by investing mainly in equity securities listed on the stock exchanges of the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, and Qatar.

The Fund may also invest in companies based in the GCC (excluding Saudi Arabia) that are listed elsewhere, and may allocate up to 10% of its value to investments in other markets.

The Investment Manager issues a monthly report outlining the Fund’s net asset value, asset allocation, key statistics, sector breakdown, and top holdings. Annual audited financial statements are also provided to all unitholders.

The SICO Kingdom Equity Fund (Feeder Fund) is SICO’s flagship Saudi Conventional Equity fund. This open-ended Fund invests in the Master Fund domiciled in Saudi Arabia, which in turn invests in equities listed on the Saudi Stock Exchange. Launched in January 2011, it is among the region’s most established funds, with a strong and consistent performance history.

Investment objective and strategy

The Fund’s primary objective is to achieve long-term capital appreciation by investing mainly in units of the Master Fund domiciled in Saudi Arabia.

The Master Fund invests in equities listed on the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) and the parallel market (Nomu), as well as in IPOs and rights issues. It may also invest in other investment funds with objectives and strategies similar to its own that are licensed by the Capital Market Authority of Saudi Arabia.

In addition, the Fund may occasionally invest in money market instruments and funds operating and licensed in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Bahrain Liquidity Fund

The Bahrain Liquidity Fund is a SICO-led initiative launched in June 2016 to enhance and deepen Bahrain’s stock market. Developed in collaboration with the Central Bank of Bahrain, the Bahrain Bourse, and key local financial institutions, this BHD 16.5 million Fund aims to strengthen market liquidity and investor confidence. SICO serves as the Fund Manager.

Investment objective and strategy

he Fund’s primary objective is to enhance market liquidity and deepen market participation on the Bahrain Bourse, while its secondary objective is to generate sustainable returns. Since its launch, it has significantly boosted daily traded value and market turnover, contributing around 36% to total bourse activity.Acting as a market maker, the Fund provides two-way quotes on most listed securities with competitive spreads. This active presence supports price discovery, expands free float, and improves overall market efficiency.

Fixed Income Funds

The SICO Fixed Income Fund is SICO’s flagship fixed income fund. This open-ended Fund invests in instruments issued by sovereign, quasi-sovereign, and private entities across the MENA region. It has been recognized as the Best MENA Fixed Income Fund Strategy at the Bonds, Loans & Sukuk Middle East Awards in both 2023 and 2024.

The Fund’s primary objective is to generate income and achieve capital appreciation over the medium to long term. It seeks to meet this goal by actively investing in a diversified portfolio of government and corporate fixed income securities, sukuk, money market instruments, and other fixed income-related instruments.

The Elzaad Sukuk Fund was launched in partnership with Wafra, the investment arm of Kuwait’s Public Institution for Social Security (PIFSS), which serves as the Investment Advisor. This open-ended Fund invests in a diversified portfolio of sukuk and other Sharia-compliant fixed income instruments issued by sovereign, quasi-sovereign, and private entities across the MENA region.

The Fund’s primary objective is to maximize total return through profit income and capital appreciation. It also aims to position itself among the leading Sharia-compliant fixed income funds in the region.

The Albaraka Türk Values & Wealth Türkiye Sukuk Fund was launched in partnership with Albaraka Portfolio Management Company, a subsidiary of Albaraka Türk Participation Bank. It is the first Türkiye-focused Sukuk fund in Bahrain, a milestone that reflects SICO’s continued leadership in developing innovative Islamic investment products.

The Fund’s main objective is to give international investors direct access to Türkiye’s Islamic capital markets and contribute to strengthening Bahrain’s position as a gateway for Sharia-compliant investments.

Investment objective and strategy

This actively managed, open-ended Fund seeks to maximize total return through profit income and capital appreciation relative to its benchmark. It primarily invests in a diversified portfolio of Sukuk and other Sharia-compliant fixed-income instruments issued by sovereign, quasi-sovereign, and private issuers in Türkiye, with selective exposure to other markets through instruments denominated in Turkish Lira and US Dollars.

The Investment Manager issues a monthly factsheet to each investor detailing the Fund’s performance, key statistics, and market commentary.

The Fund is open to accredited investors only.
The initial minimum commitment is USD 100,000, with subsequent minimum purchases of USD 10,000.
