SICO’s extensive product portfolio includes direct securities such as equities, bonds, and sukuk, as well as single-account brokerage services across the GCC and other MENA markets. It also offers margin trading facilities for equities and repurchase agreements (repos) for fixed income.
The Agency Brokerage Desk, established in 2010 as the first of its kind in Bahrain, is an additional service that enables clients to have a single broker to transact on their behalf, while maintaining their own disclosed accounts in various GCC and other MENA stock exchanges where they are required to have a nominated custodian.
SICO’s Fixed Income Trading Desk commenced operations in 2011 and has since become a leader in the fixed income arena, handling over 95% of all CBB BHD secondary market trades. The division has developed into a full-fledged regional fixed income player, with distinctive capabilities in developed and emerging market issues, and having established a significant share of overall GCC market trades on the Bahrain Bourse and in the OTC market. The desk boasts a number of traders who are supported by dedicated fixed income sales functions.
In January 2020, the Fixed Income Trading Desk was relaunched as Global Markets Division, with a broader mandate offering fixed income brokerage across regional and emerging markets. The division also launched international equity and ETF brokerage in April 2020. The desk offers a variety of products including:
- Bahrain government domestic treasury bills and bonds
- Regional and international bonds and sukuk
- International stocks in over 30 markets
- Global ETFs from leading international ETF providers
